Angelica’s Dreams

Winner of the Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsability, Angélica’s Dreams, the first Latino feature to come out of North Carolina, is the moving story of Roberto and Angélica an immigrant Latino couple torn between staying in the US or returning back to their native country.  When Angelica becomes pregnant, everything changes and the couple is faced with the difficult realization that one of them will have to sacrifice their dream for the other.

Melloweb created a bi-lingual interactive multimedia financial educational website that showcases subjects like: buying a home, a car, credit cards, insurance, starting a small business and many more.

Roberto’s Dreams

After winning the Dora Maxwell Award for Community Service with its first feature film, Angelica’s Dreams (2007), Latino Community Credit Union and local award-winning director/producer Rodrigo Dorfman produced the second part in this series of innovative educational feature films: Roberto’s Dreams,  a recession screw ball comedy that takes its storyline straight out of todays news headlines.

Latino Credit Union Chronicles

Latino Credit Union Chronicles is a series of short member documentaries produced by award-winning filmmaker Rodrigo Dorfman. From working class Latinos buying their first home, to entrepreneurs ready to take their business to the next level, to National Public Radio’s Frank Stasio ready to “move his money,” this series highlights the diverse stories of Latino Credit Union members.  The Chronicles were created to inspire others to believe in their ability to buy a home, open their own business, build their savings, and create financial stability and opportunity for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Viva La Cooperativa!

A short documentary on the history of LCCU. Ten years ago, a small group of community leaders came together to address the growing criminal violence against the NC Latino immigrant community.
